The year 2017 started with a bang for Telugu film Industry. Tollywood’s biggest hero – Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback to silver screen after 10 long years is the biggest New Year gift one can think of.
The film which released worldwide began the number game and breaking records everywhere. Kajal Aggarwal is cast opposite Chiru in Khaidi No 150. Mega Powerstar Ram Charan Tej makes debut as producer with his father’s 150th project under the banner Konidela Productions directed by the super hit director V V Vinayak. Devisri Prasad scored another super hit album for the much awaited film of the year..
The movie opens in a Central Jail in Kolkata. A convict has escaped and the Police seek the help of another convict – Kathi Seenu (Chiranjeevi), to nab the escaping criminal. While helping the Police capture the former, Seenu himself escapes and comes to Chennai. After hooking up with a fellow criminal Malli (Ali) Seenu plans to escape to Bangkok. At the airport he meets Lakshmi (Kajal Aggarwal) and it is love at first sight, so Seenu drops his plans of flying abroad.
Late in the night, Seenu is walking with Malli (Ali) when the duo witness a person being shot at by a gang of rowdies. On closer inspection, they find that the guy who has been shot is an exact replica of Seenu. Wanting to escape from the Kolkata Police, Seenu assumes the identity of the injured Shankar (Chiranjeevi) and plans on escaping to Bangkok again. The events happening around Seenu show to him that Shankar is actually in the midst of a major legal battle between a huge multi-national and his village farmers. Initially, Seenu plans to make money from this conflict and escape with it. It is at this juncture that being mistaken for Shankar,
Seenu is invited to an event where he is to be conferred with an award. Before getting the award, a video clipping on who Jeeva is, is played to all the people gathered at the event. Watching this video changes Seenu's life completely. Meanwhile, being mistaken for Seenu, the injured Shankar is arrested by the Kolkata Police and taken to prison. Who is Shankar? Why is he being selected for an award? How does Seenu's life change? The Multi-National Corporation's owner Aggarwal (Tarun Arora) is using his vast wealth and power to target something. What is it? To know the answers to all these questions, watch Khaidi No. 150 on the big screens.
V V Vinayak sticks word to word to the complete script of the orginal version Kaththi starring Vijay and Samantha. The story line taken is a sensible plot and dreading issue.
Mega fans are thrilled to see their idol on the big screen after 10 long years. Chiru mesmerized one and all with his superb intro scene, racy dance numbers, action scenes and seamless splendid acting doesn’t require special mention.
Kajal doesn’t have much to add to the film’s plot. Tarun Arora as the stylish, suave and cunning business magnate looks perfect for the part. Devisri's music is peppy and the BGM keeps the viewers on the edge of their seats. The song Ammadu lets do Kummudu has been ruling the chartbusters.
Overall Khaidi No 150 is a perfect mega comeback for Chiru with a sensible plot and storyline, commercial elements like comedy, catchy numbers and lots of action dhamaka!
