Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu Part I: The Kindling is a neo-noir gangster film written by B. Jeyamohan and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. Produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under the banner of Vels Film International, the film stars Atman Silambarasan TR in the lead with Siddhi Idnani, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Neeraj Madhav and Siddique in supporting roles. The film was released theatrically on 15 September 2022 to positive reviews from both fans and critics alike and therefore became a commercial success at the box office.
A new never before seen footage was released by Silamabarasan TR on his official YouTube channel. The 3 minutes and 19 seconds clip is a BTS (behind the scenes) video of the single shot fight (Mise-en-scène) scene from VTK. The video features the making of the fight scene where we can see Simbu learning every move carefully, demonstrated by Hollywood-based stunt choreographer Lee Whittaker.
We also see the actor replicate the same as Lee shoots him a mock video of him with a phone in order to get an idea of how the final cut should look like. In the middle, Simbu is seen imagining the scenario and rehearsing the moves even while he is not being filmed. This goes on to show the devotion and dedication that he has as an actor. The video ends with a shot of the team celebrating the success after shooting the scene for real. Simbu and Lee cut the cake, feed it to director GVM and take a selfie with the whole team behind that process.
The music of Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu was composed by Isaipuyal A. R. Rahman and a sequel for the film is currently in development. Meanwhile, on the work front, STR is presently filming for his next film titled Pathu Thala. He will be sharing the screen with Gautham Karthik in this film produced under the banner of Studio Green.
