Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is known for taking up different experimental roles and doing justice to those characters in films throughout her career. Since her debut film Podaa Podi, the actress has been a part of multiple interesting projects in significant roles. Galatta Media organised a fans meet for the talented actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar where she shared some interesting details about her acting experiences and personal life. When the anchor questioned if she know that fans are calling her lady Vijay Sethupathi. She said, “It's nice to be called that" and added "we (Vijay Sethupathi and herself) both have taken up many experimental roles and that's the reason for I guess”. When asked about both them taking up different roles. Varalaxmi said "it's the difference between a star and an actor. As an actor, there is a thirst that needs to be quenched". When asked if she has had any conversations about the Makkal Selvan and Makkal Selvi, with Vijay Sethupathi, the actress said “We worked in Michael together recently but we had other in-depth conversations about life, work and food”.
When asked about an unforgettable experience with STR, the actress said there were many moments, as the full Podaa Podi film was shot in London including Vignesh Shivan and Simbu. When asked about their first memory together. The actress shared that she first met Simbu in a star show in Malaysia and she was not an actress then. She then shared that "Simbu was the one who suggested to director Vignesh Shiva that I will be apt to play the female lead in Podaa Podi".
