'Thalapathy' Vijay's next big film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, has been progressing at a steady pace under blockbuster filmmaker Venkat Prabhu's direction. The upcoming film, which will feature music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, wrapped its first schedule in Chennai in October, following which the team shot a few key sequences in Thailand, before returning home. With Venkat Prabhu and the Thalapathy 68 team currently doing a recce in Istanbul, Turkey, actress Meenakshi Chaudhary, who is playing the female lead in the Vijay-starrer, has shared an exciting statement about the film on social media on Monday, November 27.
Meenakshi Chaudhary, who previously appeared in a pivotal role in Vijay Antony's Kolai earlier this year, took to her Instagram Story and shared her enthusiasm for Thalapathy 68 during an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session. Revealing her eagerness for the Vijay film, she wrote, "So so sooo excited for this one !!! Guys this one is one epic project !!" (sic) There has already been tremendous buzz surrounding Thalapathy 68, especially after director Venkat Prabhu revealed sometime back that the Vijay-starrer will be a "high-octane action film", with reports also doing the rounds that it will include sci-fi elements. It is well-known that both Vijay and Venkat Prabhu had traveled to Los Angeles, California, in September to reportedly discuss with the team at the USC Institute of Creative Technologies regarding the use of a 3D VFX scan technology called Light Stage, and all sights will now be on what the team is cooking for fans up ahead.
Announced to be opening in cinemas in a grand manner in 2024, Thalapathy 68 will see Vijay and Meenakshi Chaudhary appearing alongside a massive ensemble star cast featuring the likes of actors Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Laila, Sneha, Yogi Babu, Ajmal Amir, VTV Ganesh, Premgi Amaren, Vaibhav, Aravind Akash, and Ajay Raaj in pivotal roles.
