National Award-winning Hindi actor Rajkummar Rao's next big film titled Srikanth sees him portraying the role of visually-challenged industrialist Srikanth Bolla, which is gearing up for its release in cinemas starting May 10. The upcoming film directed by Tushar Hiranandani of Saand Ki Aankh (2019) fame also starring leading Tamil actress Jyotika, Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar, among others, had its much awaited trailer released on Tuesday, April 9, giving audiences a glimpse at what to expect next month and that also includes a look at Rajkummar Rao coming out with what is along the lines of yet another award-winning performance.
The Srikanth trailer starts off showing how Rajkummar Rao as Srikanth Bolla aspires to make it big in life with the hope of becoming the first visually-challenged President of India. Among the challenges he goes on to face before making his mark as an industrialist, we see him getting denied an opportunity to pursue science at the college level after which he goes on to file a court case against the Indian education system with Jyotika's help, who is playing his teacher and mentor. Srikanth revolves around the life journey of Srikanth Bolla and the visuals in the film's trailer show that Rajkummar Rao has indeed done his homework for his performance, with Jyotika also playing a vital role in the proceedings of the narrative. The film is incidentally the Tamil actress' second big Hindi film of 2024 after Shaitaan, which released recently and saw her garner immense praise for her performance. The Srikanth trailer also features the Anand-Milind duo's iconic 'Papa Kehte Hain' song from Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988) being used as a background score, with Tanishk Bagchi, Sachet-Parampara, and Ved Sharma also onboard the film for the music.
