Former actress Sana Khan, best known among Tamil cinema fans for playing the female lead in Silambarasan TR's blockbuster film Silambattam (2008), has announced that she and her husband Anas Saiyad have been blessed with their first child, a baby boy. The couple shared a joint statement on their social media handles with a video that included an ayat from Quran while revealing the big news. Announcing the happy news on Instagram, Sana wrote, "May Allah make us the best version of ourselves for our Baby. Allah ki amanat hai behtareen banna hai. Jazak Allah khair everyone for your love n dua's that made our hearts n souls happy on this beautiful journey of ours (sic)". Furthermore, their video read, "Allah tala ne mukaddar mai likha phir usko pura kiya aur asaan kiya, Aur jab allah deta hai toh khush aur musarra ke saath deta hai. Toh Allah tala ne hame beta diya (Allah wrote this in our destiny and then gave us this gift. When Allah gives us something, he gives it with his full heart and happiness. Allah blesses us with a son)."

During an interview with Iqra TV back in March, Sana announced the news of her pregnancy for the first time and revealed that she is due for her delivery in June. Upon being asked about her pregnancy, she said that it was a good feeling and that she was looking forward to embracing motherhood. She said, "It's a different journey altogether. Bohot emotionally bhi thoda mere liye as a woman ek up and down both chalta rehta hai (I have been facing many ups and downs from an emotional perspective). But I think it's a beautiful journey. I'm waiting to have my baby in my arms... that's it." Sana Khan also clarified that she was not expecting twins and said, "Nahi nahi... single hi hai abhi toh (No, I'm not expecting twins). I think slowly and steadily."
Prior to announcing her retirement from the entertainment industry in 2020, Sana Khan was an established model and starred in several notable films across five regional languages, including garnering nationwide popularity after participating in Bigg Boss 6 (2013). Having made her Tamil cinema debut as the female lead in STR's Silambattam, she soon landed roles in director Radhamohan's hit Payanam, Sathyaraj, and Shanthnu's Aayiram Vilakku to name a notable few, while making her final big-screen appearance in the 'Vera Level U' song in Vishal's Ayogya.
