Sardar is recently released Tamil action spy thriller film written and directed by P. S. Mithran of Irumbu Thirai fame. Produced by S. Lakshman Kumar under the banner of Prince Pictures, the film stars Karthi in a dual role alongside Raashii Khanna, Rajisha Vijayan, Chunky Panday, Laila, Rithvik and Munishkanth in prominent roles. the film hit the screens on 21 October 2022 and received mixed reviews from critics and audience and became a commercial success.
Witht the movie still up and running and performing decently at the box office, the makers of the film have come forward and dropped a sneak peek from the movie. The 2 minutes and 4 seconds clips features Karthi as Inspector Vijay Prakash who tries to get into a locked house. He manages to break into the house where he comes across a little boy. He then goes on to ask him where is mother is to which the boy counterasks if he is there to arrest his mother. When Vijay Kumar asks the little boy why he asked him that, the little boy says its because his mother gets arrested very often. The scene is both thrilling as well as humorous at the same time.
The film's music was composed by National Award winning music composer G. V. Prakash Kumar, with cinematography done by George C. Williams, and editing by Ruben. The film marks the Tamil film debut of Bollywood actor Chunky Pandey and Laila's comeback to cinema after sixteen long years. This film is a depiction of the contrast between father and son's beliefs. The son, a police officer, believes that any deed of his should be broadcasted whereas the father, an intelligence officer, spent thirty two years in prison for the greater good.
