Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed their daughter to this world earlier this month on November 6. Ever since then, staunch fans have been wanting to know more details about the newborn, and have been speculating what that couple would name their child. All that speculation now comes to an end as they have now officially announced the name of their daughter to be 'Raha'.
Alia Bhatt took to her official Instagram handle and shared a cute image with her husband and daughter out of focus. He mentions how it was 'dadi' (referring to Neetu Kapoor) who picked out her name. We also see a mini Barcelona home kit jersey in focus with the name 'Raha' written on it.
Sharing the image, Alia also penned a caption talking about her daughter and the meaning of her name. It read, "The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings…Raha, in its purest form means divine path in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla - rest, comfort, relief, in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. Soon after Alia made her post, several celebrities swarmed to comment on it. Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote, “Raha Kapoor can I hold you, can’t wait,” while Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Athiya Shetty, Sonakshi Sinha and several others left heart emojis in the comment section.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia will next be seen in Karan Johar's Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani in which she will be sharing the screen with Ranveer Singh. She is also making her big Hollywood debut with the film Heart of Stone, where she will be seen acting alongside Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She also has the Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif starrer film Jee Le Zaraa in her kitty which will be directed by Farhan Akhtar. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, will next be seen with Shraddha Kapoor in Luv Ranjan's yet-to-be-titled romantic film, and with Rashmika Mandanna in Sandeep Vanga's crime drama titled Animal.
