National Award-winning Tamil actress Keerthy Suresh will begin 2024 with the much-awaited film, Raghuthatha, directed by Suman Kumar, who is known for his work as a writer-screenwriter on web series like The Family Man and Farzi. The upcoming film made by the makers of the blockbuster KGF films and Kantara in Kannada have now released a fun-filled teaser for the Keerthy Suresh-starrer, which also features M. S. Bhaskar, Ravindra Vijay, Devadarshini, Rajeev Ravindranathan, Jayakumar, Anandsami, Rajesh Balachandiran, Ismath Banu, KS. Mippu, Mukesh, Janaki, Aadhira Pandilakshmi, Chu Khoy Sheng and others in key roles, with the music composed by Sean Roldan.
The Raghuthatha teaser starts off showing Keerthy Suresh as a National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadet undergoing her training where she appeals to her senior officer to speak in Tamil since she doesn't understand Hindi. Set sometime in the 1980s, the film's visuals then showcase several hilarious sequences, with the emphasis predominantly on the imposition of Hindi on Tamil people. Keerthy Suresh, who plays Kayalvizhi in Raghuthatha, is at one point seen rejecting her promotion at her job because she has to write the Hindi exam, while also leading a group protest in the Valluvanpettai town and asserting that she has to go to Madras for her ideas to reach the masses.
There has been quite a lot of buzz surrounding Raghuthatha and Keerthy Suresh will be looking to come out firing on all cylinders once again after her performance in Maamannan (2023) garnered her appreciation. Having won the National Award for her impressive performance in Mahanati (2018), headlining a film is not a new task for the leading Tamil actress, and we can expect her to once again hit the high note. Although there is no release date yet for Raghuthatha, we can expect an announcement in the days ahead for the Keerthy Suresh film.
