Former Indian skipper and star cricketer MS Dhoni will be venturing into film production with his newly launched production company, Dhoni Entertainment (DEPL). The production house has planned to bankroll various exciting contents across all mainstream languages. In a super exciting turn of events, the official announcement on the first production venture of Dhoni Entertainment was made yesterday (October 24) much to the delight of the fans. What is most special is that MS Dhoni has decided to start his cinema journey in Tamil cinema, and it is indeed a special moment for all the fans.

The first production venture of Dhoni Entertainment will be in Tamil and the movie will be directed by debutant Ramesh Thamilmani. This film will be a family entertainer which has been conceptualized by Dhoni's wife, Sakshi Singh Dhoni. who is also the Managing Director of Dhoni Entertainment. The project is expected to go on floors very soon and the official announcement on the cast and crew will be made soon.

Talking about the project, Ramesh Thamilmani, in his official statement said, "From the moment I read the concept written by Sakshi, I knew it was special. The concept was fresh and had all the potential to be a fun family entertainer. All of us are excited to kick start this journey and bring this special film to life for the audiences to watch and enjoy". Dhoni Entertainment is also in talks with various other talented filmmakers across industries for their next set of projects. Dhoni has shared a very special bond with Tamil Nadu and the Tamil people ever since the inception of IPL when he was crowned as the Captain of Chennai Super Kings and there has been no look back since then.

Dhoni has always considered Chennai to be his second home and this decision of him to produce a Tamil film as his first film shows his special love.
