The 1 minute 40 seconds clip gives a sneak peek into the set that has been built in the studio. We also see how a shot is being planned with DOPs trying to frame the shot and get the angles right, spot boys running around trying to get all that is needed, etc. One can also see a blue Volkswagon Van at the back which might or might not be of some purpose in the upcoming film. Only time will tell...
The first look of Japan that was released features Karthi in a red jumpsuit, lying on a sofa. Above the sofa, on the wall, hangs a golden frame, which again features Karthi sporting a gold shirt and some chains as he holds a golden AK47 gun. It is not yet clear if the actor will play dual roles in the film. Yet again, only time will tell...
This highly anticipated film is directed by Raju Murugan, who previously helmed Joker. Dream Warrior Pictures, which produced Joker, is producing Japan under its banner as well. The banner has backed Karthi’s previous films like Saguni, Kashmora, Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, Kaithi, and Sultan. Japan was launched recently and will have Anu Emmanuel play the female lead. Actor Sunil, who predominantly works in Telugu films, will also be part of Japan's cast, along with cinematographer-director Vijay Milton.
The music of Japan will be composed by GV Prakash Kumar, while Philomin Raj will be handling the edits. Ravi Varman and Vinesh Banglan is the cinematographer and production designer of the film respectively. The first schedule of shooting will begin soon. Japan will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
