Leading Tamil actress Jyotika recently made her big Bollywood comeback after 25 years in Shaitaan alongside Ajay Devgn and Madhavan, and will next be seen in the upcoming Srikanth, a biopic on visually-impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla being portrayed by Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao, which has been announced to open in cinemas on May 10. With her performance in Shaitaan earning her immense praise once again from audiences and critics alike, Jyotika recently sat down with Galatta India's Nayandeep Rakshit for a candid conversation and also took part in a rapid fire segment which saw her talk about her husband and actor Suriya.
During the interview, Jyotika, who was queried about the one quality she likes and tolerates about Suriya, said, "What I love about him is that he gives me a lot of respect and a lot of space. Tolerate? Maybe bathroom timings (laughs). He's always in the bathroom for a long time. It's a fight in the morning." Talking about what Suriya loves the most and tolerates about her, Jyotika said, "I think he should be loving the friendship we have. Tolerating I think, he tolerates a lot. It will be a list. So, he's the listener and I'm the talker. So, maybe he really tolerates a lot what I talk." Speaking about the one acting role she feels is Suriya's best to date, Jyotika said, "I loved his performance in this Mani Ratnam film Aayutha Ezhuthu, which was called in Hindi as Yuva. I loved his work in that film and definitely Jai Bhim is one of my top." As for the one film that she liked starring alongside Suriya in, she said, "Kaakha Kaakha. I think that film had a magic about it."
The last time Jyotika and Suriya shared screen space as the lead pair was in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006) and Tamil cinema fans have since been waiting with bated breath for the duo to appear together in a film once again. The fan favorite couple have so far featured in seven films together starting with Poovellam Kettuppar (1999), Uyirile Kalanthathu (2000), Kaakha Kaakha (2003), Perazhagan (2004), Maayavi (2005), and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, with Suriya going to appear in a guest role in Jyotika's June R (2006).
