Hindi remake for Pasupathi's Vairam?
Just a few days before the release of popular Tamil-Telugu actor Pasupathi's second Malayalam film Vairam on September 20 (Ramzan), surprising news began to circulate in Malayalam media on Tuesday that a leading Bollywood production house has expressed its interest in remaking Vairam in Hindi!
On enquiry, a source confirmed the report saying that final discussions with a major Bollywood production company are on.
Being directed by M.A. Nishad and produced by N. Shiva Rao under the banner of Cinema NSR Private Limited, Vairam revolves around Sivarajan (Pasupathi), a bank employee living with his wife Devi (Meera Vasudevan) and only daughter Vairamani (Dhanya), a plus two student. Tragedy befalls him when his daughter is killed. The climax is about Pasupathi’s quest for justice.
It has Suresh Gopi playing a lawyer, while Mukesh and Kalabhavan Mani play investigative cops. Written by veteran Cherian Kalpakavady, the film has Thilakan, Jagathy, Sai Kumar, K.P.A.C. Lalitha, Rekha and others in the cast. Sanjeev Sankar wields the camera. M. Jayachandran has scored music for lyrics by Gireesh Puthenchery.
