The wait is finally over! Ajay Devgn and Tabu have finally announced the release date of their upcoming crime thriller Drishyam 2. Directed by Abhishek Pathak, the film also stars Akshaye Khanna, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta in this remake of the Malayalam movie of the same name that was released in February last year featuring Mohanlal in the lead. The sequel of the 2015 crime thriller will release theatrically later this year on 18 November 2022.

Ajay Devgn took to his official Twitter handle to announce the release date. Sharing an image of the film's date reveal, he wrote, "Attention! ⚠️ #Drishyam 2 releasing in theatres on 18th November 2022."

Tabu also shared the news on her Instagram handle with the same image and a caption which read, "#Drishyam 2 releasing in theatres on 18th November 2022." Check out the post below:

Talking about Drishyam 2, Ajay Devgn had previously shared in a statement saying, "Drishyam was loved and it’s a legend. I am now elated to present yet another interesting story with Drishyam 2. Vijay is a multidimensional character and he creates an engaging narrative onscreen. Abhishek Pathak has a fresh vision for this film. I’m keenly looking forward to part 2, filling in the large shoes of the earlier film with people investing in the mystery and the characters."

While most of the original cast are reprising their roles, the new addition will be Akshaye Khanna and it will be interesting to see how the actor's pivotal character adds to the already strong cast. Drishyam 2 is backed by Viacom18 Studios, Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, and Panorama Studios. The film is to release on the same day as Anubhav Sinha's Bheed starring Rajkummar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles. So it will be interesting to see the two films duke it out at the box office.
