Carnatic singer Bombay Jayashri's family has released a statement on social media informing that she is on the road to recovery after getting hospitalized in the United Kingdom (U.K.) last week. The The 58-year-old singer's family in their statement expressed their gratitude to the National Health Service (NHS) staff and the Indian government for their assistance in aiding her with the necessary medical assistance. On Monday, March 27, Bombay Jayashri's family said on Twitter, "The medical interventions have been very effective. Jayashri Ramnath's road to recovery is on the right track. The NHS staff have been incredible. The Indian government has been by our side every step of the way. We thank everyone for their love, support and prayers."

Bombay Jayashri had reportedly suffered an aneurysm during her tour in the U.K. on Friday, March 24, and was rushed to the hospital where she underwent surgery. The celebrated singer, who was initially scheduled to perform at the the Tung Auditorium, Yoko Ono Lennon Centre, University of Liverpool, has since become stable. "Bombay Jayashri had a health set back in the United Kingdom where she is currently touring for her concerts. She received timely medical intervention thanks to the capable staff at the NHS and her accompanying artistes. She is currently stable and recovering well, she requires rest for a couple of days," her family said. They further added, "Requesting privacy, her family added her health status will be updated in due course. Bombay Jayashri's family requests privacy and your support during this period. We shall update you in due course. Requesting you all to ignore messages circulating on social media platforms."
