Youth sensation Arjun Das' next big Tamil film is the much-awaited Aneethi directed by Tamil Nadu State Film Award winner and director Vasanthabalan, who is best known for Veyil (2006), Angadi Theru (2010), and Kaaviya Thalaivan (2014). The upcoming thriller is gearing up for its grand release in cinemas starting July 21 and promotions have officially kicked off with the film's action-packed official trailer now released. Aneethi sees Arjun Das sharing screen space with Dusara Vijayan, who became a heart-throb after her powerful performances in Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), Natchathiram Nagargiradhu (2022), and more recently in Arulnithi's Kazhuvethi Moorkkan, with Kaali Venkat, Bigg Boss stars Vanitha Vijayakumar, Suresh Chakravarthi and Aranthangi Nisha, Nerkonda Paarvai actor Arjun Chidambaram, producer JSK Satishkumar, Bharani, Shah Ra cast in major supporting roles.
The Aneethi trailer starts off by introducing Arjun Das as a food delivery employee, who faces the brunt of irate customers when their orders get messed up or when they are delayed. We see the visuals showing his character going through a journey where he's put to the test on a number of occasions when he comes across various people and the overall social system that keeps pushing him down till he meets Dushara Vijayan and decides to embark on the path of meditation. The Aneethi trailer cuts on several occasions showing Arjun Das getting beaten up by the police, while Dushara too is seen with physical injuries, and Arjun Chidambaran essays a negative role.
Arjun Das, who became a rage among Tamil cinema audiences after his breakthrough role as the villain in Karthi's box office hit Kaithi (2019), while also impressing in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's blockbuster Master (2021), will be looking to hit it out of the park with Aneethi after he previously played the lead role in the supernatural horror thriller film Andhaghaaram (2020). Produced under the Urban Boyz Studios banner, Aneethi will feature songs and a background score composed by National Award-winning music director G. V. Prakash Kumar and is a tad bit different from critically-acclaimed filmmaker Vasanthabalan's previous films considering it relies heavily on action based on the promotional material released so far.
