Actress Rashmika Mandanna played the female lead in the film Varisu and shared screen space with 'Thalapathy' Vijay for the first time. The song Ranjithame was a dance number that featured the actress composed by Thaman S. It was an instant hit number and the hook step from the film was also recreated by many fans on social media. The Tamil, Telugu bilingual film was released in January and became one of the top films in the box office collection for the year. The film was directed by Vamshi Paidipally and the actress Rashmika Mandanna had expressed her admiration for the star actor Vijay from the pooja ceremony for the film.
