It is well-known that the super-hit romantic Tamil film 96 has now been remade in Telugu as Jaanu. The original version had Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha playing the lead roles whereas Samantha are Sharwanand are seen reprising their roles in the Telugu version. Prem Kumar who directed the original version was roped in for the remake as well. The makers zeroed in the title Jaana after giving it a lot of thought, majorly because Prabhas had registered a title called Jaan for his upcoming 20th film. Having a similar name might affect the prospects of the film, so producer Dil Raju had approached the production UV Creations if he can use Jaanu as the title for his film, Prabhas was kind enough to give his title away. That’s a sweet gesture by the Baahubali star. 
 
Dil Raju disclosed this information during the promotion of Jaanu and also thanked Prabhas for lending him the title. “When I watched 96, I felt Jaanu would be the apt title for the Telugu version. I later came to know that Prabhas20 makers were considering Jaan as their film’s title. I immediately contacted UV Creations. After a few days, I received a call from them and they gave me the permission to use the title Jaanu. I thank Prabhas for lending me the title,” Dil Raju said.
