Apr 29 - TN COVID Update: 104 New Cases | 2 New Deaths | Total - 2162 Cases & 27 Deaths
April 29th has become the 6th day with over a 100 cases of newly tested COVID-19 Corona Virus Positive cases in Tamil Nadu. Today has followed in yesterday's trend and had a shockingly high number of cases, especially in Chennai. The official numbers of #COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases in Tamil Nadu are out and we have it for you. Yesterday was the worst ever so far for our state and today has also come nearly close. We have today's numbers for you, here! Tamil Nadu has had 104 new cases of COVID positive being reported in the past 24 hours. Of this, 94 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total, to 768. There have been positive cases in 5 districts in Tamil Nadu and apart from Chennai, there have been 4 new cases in Chengalpattu, 3 in Kancheepuram, 2 in Villupuram and 1 new case in Tiruvallur!
Unfortunately, there have been 2 new deaths in the past 24 hours, both in Chennai and the death tally in the state has gone up to 27! The number of recoveries has been moderately ok today with 82 new recoveries and discharges and the total number of recovered people has gone up to 1210. A 27-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man lost their lives to COVID related illness, in Chennai. The 4-day lockdown imposed by the TN Government in 5 districts will be coming to an end today and tomorrow, the shops have been given permission to be open from 6:00 am till 5:00 pm. It is imperative that we follow all the government mandated guidelines and stay safe at home! Break the chain and flatten the curve!
