Prince Sivakarthikeyan's movie Velaikkaran, under Mohan Raja's direction, released in December 2017 and went on to become a hit! This action thriller had Nayanthara as the female lead and also marked Mollywood star Fahadh Faasil's debut in Tamil Cinema. He played the antagonist, a corrupt capitalist who would go to any lengths to adulterate products and increase his sales & profits! In this movie, Siva's character understands the negative effects of adulterated products and unites the people in fighting against this menace. In a similar scenario, our Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also called for such an initiative!

In his latest address to the nation, Narendra Modi has asked all of us citizens to switch off our electric lights for 9 minutes, at 9:00 pm on April 5th (Sunday). He has asked us to unite and light lamps, candles, diyas and use this light to fight against the ongoing COVID-19 Corona Virus Spread! The climax of Velaikkaran has such a scene where Sivakarthikeyan asks people to show their solidarity against adulterated products by switching on their lights at midnight to show their unity and fight against it! We are currently in Phase 2 of this Pandemic and most of the people are struggling hard to ensure that we don't move into the dreaded Phase 3. Already, this Virus has claimed thousands of lives across the world and has affected many many more!
