The COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus Pandemic has not been showing any signs of receding or slowing down! It has already infected over 17 lakh people in India alone and has crossed the 2.5 lakh mark in Tamil Nadu, which is currently ranked second on the list of Indian states to be most affected by the Virus! We have been reporting a number of top celebrities, politicians, world leaders and sportspersons also being infected by this virus and it was just a little earlier today that we reported of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah being infected by COVID and getting hospitalised for treatment! Now, it has come to light that the Tamil Nadu Governor has also tested positive for the Corona Virus!

It was less that a couple of weeks back that the Raj Bhavan in Chennai was considered a COVID hotspot after about 84 employees from here tested positive for COVID. However, it was clarified that the Governor had not come into contact with any of these employees, as they had all been working on the outside of the building. The infected employees were immediately admitted to a hospital and treated for the COVID. Now, the Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit himself, has tested positive for the Corona Virus. The 81-year-old Governor had already been in home quarantine these past few weeks, after a number of Raj Bhavan employees tested positive for the Virus. 

The Governor visited a private hospital earlier today to get himself checked and it was found that he was positive for COVID. However, the hospital has issued a statement announcing that the Governor is asymptomatic and that he is clinically stable! He underwent further tests and assessment at the Kauvery Hospital, in Alwarpet, Chennai! As the infection is said to be very mild, Shri Banwarilal Purohit has been advised home isolation itself and he will be monitored by a medical team from Kauvery Hospital. Stay tuned for updates...
