After nearly a year of having lived with the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus, it has become common knowledge that this Virus doesn't discriminate between anybody and affects any and every person irrespective of their gender, caste, creed, race or social standing. Even since this Pandemic broke out, we have heard of many influential celebrities, actors, politicians and sportspersons being affected by the Virus and even losing some of these people to it. We have seen a number of Indian political leaders who have been infected by the Corona Virus and though most of them have since successfully recovered, some have even succumbed to it.
In Tamil Nadu, DMK MLA J Anbalagan became the first casualty among politicians to lose their lives to this deadly Corona Virus. This was followed by veteran politician and businessman H Vasanthakumar, who was a Congress Lok Sabha MP, also losing his life to COVID related complications. Agriculture Minister R Doraikannu also tested positive for COVID. Now, it has come to light that the ADMK MLA and Food Minister R Kamaraj, has tested positive for the Corona Virus. Reports quote some sources close to the Minister as saying that he has been admitted to the MIOT hospital, in Manapakkam in Chennai, for treatment. We also hear that he is asymptomatic and has been placed under observation.
It was just last week that the DMK and its President MK Stalin had submitted a petition to the TN Governor Banwarilal Purohit, alleging corruption charges against the TN Chief Minister EPS, Deputy CM Panneerselvam and 6 other ministers, including the Food Minister R Kamaraj. Let's hope the Minister recovers soon from COVID and gets back to normalcy, at the earliest!
