It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 5652 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 519,860! Of these, 983 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 151,560! Kancheepuram has recorded 189 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 19,959, while 1,332 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 31,388 total cases of which 2,215 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 29,198 cases with 2,055 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 549 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Chengalpattu registered 319 new cases and Salem has recorded 280 new cases! 

There have been 57 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 8559. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 151,560 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 46,633 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 9,833! There have been 5,768 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 464,668. There have been 84,567 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 6,133,399 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country!
