June 22 - TN COVID Update: 2710 New Cases | 37 New Deaths | Total - 62,087 Cases & 794 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official number of the COVID-19 cases are released and June 22nd has now turned out to become the day with the highest single day spike so far! The official numbers of COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus cases in Tamil Nadu are out and we have it for you. The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 2710 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 62,087! Of these, 1487 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 42,659! Madurai has recorded 153 new cases while Tiruvannamalai has registered 130 and Chengalpattu 126!
There have been 37 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 794. As of now, Chennai is the biggest hotspot in the state and has 42,659 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 27,178 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone, stands at 18,372! The number of recoveries has also been good and continues to go strongly! There have been 1358 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 34,112. There have been 26,592 samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 919,204!
