It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 505 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 837,832! After over months together of continuously recording a high number of new cases each day since May, Tamil Nadu finally begun recording less than 600 cases in recent days. The good news is that the numbers are continuing to reduce steadily and Chennai's daily new cases tally has been steadily recording below 200 in these recent days! 145 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 231,148! Kancheepuram has recorded 15 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 29,245 and 136 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 51,501 total cases of which 343 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 43,527 cases with 163 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 48 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Chengalpattu has recorded 46 cases and Tiruppur has recorded 23 new cases!
There have been 05 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 12,350. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 231,148 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 4,575 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 1,563! There have been 526 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 820,907. There have been 52,725 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 15,965,919 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 52,550 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 15,654,721!
