Feb 12 - TN COVID Update: 483 New Cases | 06 New Deaths | Total - 844,173 Cases & 12,408 Deaths

It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 483 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 844,173! After over months together of continuously recording a high number of new cases each day since May, Tamil Nadu finally begun recording less than 600 cases in recent days. The good news is that the numbers are continuing to reduce steadily and Chennai's daily new cases tally has gone down below 150 in recent times! 142 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 233,046! Kancheepuram has recorded 11 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 29,362 and 89 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 52,003 total cases of which 285 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 43,834 cases with 239 of them being currently active. Coimbatore & Chengalpattu have recorded 45 new cases each in the last 24 hours, while Thiruvallur has recorded 21 cases and trichy has recorded 17 new cases!
There have been 06 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 12,408. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 233,046 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 4,285 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 1,562! There have been 486 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 827,480. There have been 55,290 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 16,655,151 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 55,128 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 16,341,762!
