It is that time of the day when the official numbers of the COVID-19 cases are released and here we bring it for you along with a comprehensive round-up of all the details! The last 24 hours show that Tamil Nadu has had 464 new cases of COVID positive being reported, taking the overall total to 842,261! After over months together of continuously recording a high number of new cases each day since May, Tamil Nadu finally begun recording less than 600 cases in recent days. The good news is that the numbers are continuing to reduce steadily and Chennai's daily new cases tally has gone down below 150 today! 143 new cases have been identified in Chennai alone, taking the district's total to 232,464! Kancheepuram has recorded 18 new cases and the district has now registered a total of 29,328 and 103 of them are currently active! Chengalpattu has recorded 51,840 total cases of which 270 are currently active and Thiruvallur has recorded a total of 43,735 cases with 219 of them being currently active. Coimbatore alone has recorded 49 new cases in the last 24 hours, while Chengalpattu has recorded 28 cases and Thiruvallur has recorded 26 new cases!
There have been 04 new COVID related deaths in Tamil Nadu in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 12,387. As of now, Chennai is the district with the most number of COVID cases recorded so far, in the state and has 232,464 cases registered. The total number of active cases in entire Tamil Nadu, stands at 4,354 while the number of active cases in Chennai alone stands at 1,551! There have been 495 new recoveries and discharges in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered people to 825,520. There have been 51,613 new samples tested, in the past 24 hours alone, taking the total tests to 16,439,856 tests, which is still the highest for any state in our country! 51,448 people have been tested in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of people tested so far, to 16,127,120!
