Apart from tasting huge commercial success, there were talks about the Tamil psychological thriller getting remade in other languages with the Telugu remake officially launched earlier this week under the tentative title, Production No. 1.
The Telugu Ratsasan remake will star Bellamkonda Sreenivas in the lead role that was portrayed by Vishnu Vishal in the Tamil version under Ramesh Varma’s direction and produced by actor Havish Lakshman Koneru’s A Studios banner with Ghibran retained for the music.
Meanwhile, there were reports stating actress Raashi Khanna was being eyed to play the female lead in the Telugu Ratsasan remake portrayed originally by Amala Paul in Tamil.
That said, it has now been confirmed that actress Anupama Parameswaran, who made her debut in the Malayalam blockbuster, Premam, has been cast in the Telugu Ratsasan remake owing to her massive popularity in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
