Yogi Babu's important statement - says he is not a part of this Tamil movie!
Without a doubt, Yogi Babu is one of the top comedians that we have in Tamil cinema right now and he is the most sought after comedians by a lot of directors and producers. After a long journey, Yogi Babu has now created a place for himself in the Tamil film industry and he enjoys a great fan base. His one-liners have a special fan following and that has been a major boost for a lot of movies. The talented comedian was last seen playing the lead role in Cocktail, which released as a direct OTT film on Zee 5 streaming platform. This Vijaya Murugan directorial opened to mixed to negative reviews from the critics and fans.
Meanwhile, Yogi Babu has made an important clarification on his Twitter page, about his involvement in an upcoming Tamil film. Sharing the poster of a Tamil film titled Dhowalath, Yogi Babu said that he is in no way associated with the film and requested fans to be aware of it. Yogi Babu shared the poster and wrote, “இன்று இந்த விளம்பரம் பார்த்தேன். எனக்கும் ’தெளலத்’ படத்துக்கும் எந்தவித சம்பந்தமும் இல்லை எனத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.” The tweet is roughly translated as, “I saw the advertisement of this film called 'Dhowalath' today. I would like to inform you that I do not have any connection with this film”.
Going by Yogi Babu’s tweet, it looks like the makers of Dhowalath tried to promote the film using Yogi Babu’s fame. This is not something new for Yogi Babu as there were a lot of movies that were falsely promoted using Yogi Babu’s name to cash in some popularity. However, this time Yogi Babu has decided to keep a full stop to this practice. Dhowalath is said to be a long delayed Tamil film that has been waiting for release for more than 5 years. Dhowalath is directed by Sakthee Sivan.
As far as Yogi Babu's lineup of films are concerned, it includes Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, Dhanush's Karnan, Santhanam's Dikkiloona, G.V.Prakash's Adangathey, Vishnu Vishal's Jagajala Killadi, director Manikandan's Kadaisi Vivasayi, Sunaina's Trip, Vemal's Kanni Raasi, Samuthirakani's Vellai Yaanai, etc. Yogi Babu will be seen playing the lead role in debutant Madonne Ashwin's Mandela and Kirumi fame director Anucharan's Panni Kutty. Yogi Babu will also be seen playing an important role in Thala Ajith's Valimai directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor. For now, check out Yogi Babu’s clarification tweet below:
