American actress Farrah Forke, best known for her appearances on the long-running NBC sitcom Wings, passed away after a battle with cancer on February 25 in her Texas residence. She was 54. Forke is survived by her twin sons, Chuck and Wit Forke, her mother and stepfather, and her three sisters. Forke made heads turn after she first appeared in the fourth season of Wings, which was telecast from 1990-1997. She played the role of helicopter pilot Alex Lambert and was a romantic interest of both Joe (Tim Daly) and Brian Hackett (Steven Weber), on the hit NBC sitcom, with the former winning her heart. Sitcom writers David Angell, Peter Casey, and David Lee, who are known for their work on Cheers and Frasier, created Wings, which also had Tony Shalhoub and Thomas Haden Church in starring roles. 

Forke also landed a recurring role on the superhero television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. She appeared in the show's second season as attorney Mayson Drake in four episodes. Some of her other notable television roles include Ned and Stacey, Party of Five, Dweebs, and Mr. Rhodes. Forke was also seen in films and made her big-screen debut in 1991 in Brain Twisters, followed by appearances in Barry Levinson’s Disclosure and Michael Mann’s Heat to name a notable few. She did voice roles too, including playing the superhero Big Barda on smash-hit animated shows like Batman Beyond and Justice League Unlimited. 

Born on January 12, 1968, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Farrah Forke moved to New York and pursued acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. She later took a temporary break from her acting commitments to raise her sons Chuck and Wit.
