Walking away to instant fame
A fresher just out of college donning a mother's role is indeed news. Sirisha Madhavi Kumar said she had no hesitation playing this part in a movie with a strong message. Based in Chennai and hailing from Hyderabad, Sirisha said there was no way she could have refused the Vannathu Poochi offer once director Rasi Azhagappan spelled out the storyline.
Now that the ice is broken, offers have been trickling in for this young lady but she is in no mood to grab these glamorous roles. Rather, she is prepared to wait for roles with substance where her acting will be appreciated.
A ramp model, Sirisha has done scores of commercials in all the southern languages. It's a world where she is comfortable, and as an extension, she would be happy to dabble in movies. But the rider is that the banner has to be right and her role well-defined.
Reminded of her resemblance to actress Swarnamalya, Sirisha sees it as a streak of luck.
