'Rockstar' Ramani Ammal passed away due to health issues on 4th April 2023. It was reported that the singer died due to a heart attack. The late popular singer who made her debut in the hit romantic drama film Kaadhal in 2004 and was a part of various significant films in the Tamil film Industry including Kaathavarayan, Haridas, etc. The singer has also participated in the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa senior and impressed judged and become popular as Rockstar Ramani Ammal. She was the runner up and went on to sing songs in the albums of Junga, Sandakozhi 2, Kaappaan, Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja and Kaappaan. Her most recent work was in the movie Bommai Nayagi which had Yogi Babu and was produced by acclaimed director Pa. Ranjith.
VJ Archana, who hosted the show Sa Re Ga Ma PA Senior and was close with the singer 'Rockstar' Ramani Ammal. The VJ has paid her tribute on the demise of the singer on Instagram and has also visited the residence of the singer. Archana addressed the media after paying respects to her mortal remains and said “She was Paati to everyone. She was there for everyone every time as Paati. During shooting, she would come in at first, where ever she is, she would leave me at 4’O Clock because saying she has to prepare tea for her youngest son and would come home. So, her family was everything to her, her family, her sons, and her children. I Remember, 'Rockstar' Ramani Ammal was the name I gave her and she kept saying I was her mother as I have named her. It's sad to see my daughter like this. She lifted Zee Tamil’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa to the next level and She was unbeatable and only Rani of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is Rockstar Ramani Ammal. Please pray for her soul to rest in peace. We all are from Zee. According to me, Those who are from anywhere in the world if they though of her for one minute they had observed silence that is enough for her. It is not required for every one to come to see her and pay respects, Patti has never expected it."
