The psychological thriller film, Ratsasan, helmed by Ram Kumar was released last year and went on to become a blockbuster and featured Vishnu Vishal and Amala Paul in the lead roles with Saravanan, Radha Ravi, Kaali Venkat, Munishkanth among others in supporting roles.
Ratsasan was widely appreciated for its engaging screenplay and the plot of the movie. After its success, the Telugu remake rights of the film were bagged by Koneru Satyanarayana for his banner A Studios and Bellamkonda Srinivas was announced to be reprising Vishnu Vishal's role as the male lead.
Anupama Parameshwaran of Premam fame will be reprising the role of Amala Paul in the Ratsasan Telugu version while Abhirami, who appeared as Vishnu Vishal's niece in the Tamil version had recently confirmed about getting back to the same role for the remake.
Being directed by Ramesh Varma, about sixty percent of production has been wrapped up with the team remaining tight-lipped on who will be playing the role of the antagonist. However, the Ratsasan Telugu version's title is revealed to be as Rakshasudu with an official announcement expected to be made on April 6 on the festive occasion of Ugadi.
