Earlier, the Madras High Court issued a ban on Vishal's Mark Antony based on a plea by Lyca Productions that the actor had borrowed a sum to produce a film under his own banner. According to reports, the actor had borrowed a loan from cinema financier Anbuchezhiyan of Gopuram Films and an agreement had been signed stating that the rights to all his upcoming films would be with Lyca Productions. The production-distribution company had previously filed a case to stop the release of Vishal's Veeramae Vaagai Soodum (2022) and an order was issued to Vishal to pay a sum of Rs 15 crores to the court. The case had come up for hearing as Lyca Productions had informed a division bench that Vishal had not paid them the sun that he owed after which the court had issued a ban on Mark Antony's release while ordering the actor to appear in person. Following the orders, the Madras HC observed that there was no connection between Vishal and the production of Mark Antony, and has now given the go-ahead to the actor's film to release as announced earlier on September 15.
