There have been rumors going around for the past few days on social media about actor Vishal Krishna Reddy, known by his mononym Vishal, contesting against Chandrababu Naidu in the upcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh. There have been several reports that actor Vishal, who contested and won the Nadigar Sangam elections, is all set to enter politics. Chandrababu Naidu has the support of the Kuppam constituency in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

Actor Vishal has come out with a statement denying reports that he is all set to enter politics. He took to his official Twitter handle to dismiss these irrelevant rumors going around about him. He wrote, "I have been hearing rumours about my entry into politics in Andhrapradesh & contesting in Kuppam constituency. I absolutely deny it, not aware of this at all & nobody contacted me about this. I don't know from where this news surfaced. It's going to be Movies & Movies for me & there is no intention of entering into Andhrapradesh politics or contesting against Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu". Check it out:

It was said that Jagan Mohan Reddy was in talks with actor Vishal to contest as he wanted to field a strong candidate to defeat Chandrababu. Many people from Tamil Nadu worked in the Kuppam constituency in the Chittoor district. Vishal's father happened to be doing business in that area and since Vishal is a well-known face in that region, he was being fielded as a candidate and was being made to contest the elections thinking that he could win the elections. It was also said that Andhra Pradesh minister Pettireddy Ramachandra Reddy had nominated actor Vishal as the candidate.

The actor is currently busy with his films. He is playing the lead in debutant Vinoth Kumar's Laththi for which he is awaiting release filming has been wrapped up. He will also be seen in Adhik Ravichandran's period gangster saga Mark Antony. He also has Thupparivaalan 2 in his kitty. He will reprise his role in this sequel of 2017's Thupparivalan and will also be directing the film.
