Thangalaan is an anticipated film that has 'Chiyaan' Vikram in a raw new look. The film is set to be the next project of the path-breaking director Pa. Ranjith and is set around the Kola Gold Fields in the pre-historic era. The film also has a star cast of Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy and English actor Danial Caltagirone. The makers announced today that the next schedule of filming has begun in Chennai. The film is bankrolled by the well-known producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja under the banner Studio Green.

The producer recently gave an exclusive interview to Galatta Media and shared some exciting information about the upcoming films in his banner, Kanguva, Thangalaan, etc. When asked about Thangalaan and the changes it will make in the industry, the producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja said “not just in Tamil cinema, It will bring a change in the world cinema. Movie buffs all around the world would turn their heads and watch the film, by my expectations. It's a real history that has happened, it is being taken as a film that will be liked by the audience, with heroism. We have shortlisted nine top film festivals from the Oscars, to Berlin, Toronto, and so on. We will send the film to all these nine festivals. So, surely this film will win multiple awards."
When asked about the plot of the film, producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja said It is a story that happened in the 18th century in the KGF. “It's an original story." The producer then also spoke about the director Pa. Ranjith and said apart from being a leading director, he is a humanitarian. He said from day one, Ranjith was keen on bringing the people who worked with him and his industry friends forward to making good, much-needed films. He then said “through Neelam Production and audio lable, he is bringing forward many things surrounding the society”.
