Both stars began their careers around about the same time in the 1980s with the two going on to achieve massive stardom in their careers in their respective film industries.

Actor Vikram has established himself to be one of the most bankable Tamil film stars and his expanding film lineup is enough testimony to the statement.

Telugu actor Venkatesh too enjoys a popularity that is sky-reaching in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana despite being not seen on the big screen for nearly a year after his last film was Guru, the remake of Irudhi Suttru.

That being said there are reports that both Vikram and Venkatesh’s names are in the fray to star in the Tamil and Telugu remakes of the smash Malayalam hit film, The Great Father, which had Mammootty and Arya in lead roles.

Although reports state the projects are in their nascent stages, it is best we take this as a speculation at this point as an update from either of the stars is awaited.

In regard to his upcoming projects, Vikram is at present working on Saamy Square, the sequel to the 2003 blockbuster Saamy, opposite Keerthy Suresh under Hari’s direction.

The National Award-winning actor is also part of Gautham Menon’s action spy thriller, Dhruva Natchathiram, which has completed a major chunk of filming.

In addition, it was announced sometime back that Vikram would be starring in the Rs. 300 crore epic film titled Mahavir Karna under Ennu Ninte Moideen fame RS Vimal’s direction.

Furthermore, when Kamal Haasan announced Vikram would be the lead for a film under his Raaj Kamal Films Production banner with Akshara Haasan as his co-star and Rajesh M. Selva directing it, the euphoria shot up.
