It has been a rollicking time for ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay fans across the world as the makers of his upcoming film, BIGIL, released two posters in light of the superstar’s birthday today. The posters showing the actor in different avatars have gone on to receive a stupendous response from fans everywhere with wishes pouring in from all corners. Having said that, Maanagaram and Kaithi director Lokesh Kanagaraj, who will be helming Vijay’s next film, Thalapathy 64, too conveyed his wishes to the actor as well as lauded him for his new looks that were displayed in the Bigil second look poster. Shortly after, director Rathna Kumar, who has directed the hit, Meyaadha Maan, and the upcoming film, Aadai, responded in a fun-filled and sarcastic manner saying director Lokesh Kanagaraj is putting on a world class act for his response towards the Bigil second look poster.
With Vijay’s Bigil being directed by Atlee under the AGS Entertainment banner featuring music by A. R. Rahman announced to his screens this Diwali in October, there is considerable excitement for the superstar’s next film, Thalapathy 64, ever since it was revealed that Lokesh Kanagaraj would be directing the project, which would include music by Anirudh Ravichander. Although not much is known about the film as of now, it is believed it is going to be an intense and gritty action gangster drama and will be produced Vijay’s relative, Xavier Britto, who had earlier produced ventures namely Senthoora Pandi and Rasigan during the early 1990s.
Being planned for an April or May 2020 release, Thalapathy 64 will see cinematography being handled by Sathyan Sooryan and editing by Philomin Raj. There has been a huge excitement among fans after it was revealed Vijay would be teaming up with a young and up-and-coming director like Lokesh Kanagaraj considering the actor has been working with big names for several years now. Fans have been expressing their joy upon knowing the film will be made as a quickie and will be coming out in less than a year from his previous project; something the superstar hasn’t done for several years now.
