Vijay Sethupathi’s Sindhubaadh has over the past few days faced release issues after the producers of Baahubali, Arka Media Works, filed a petition in the Hyderabad High Court seeking a stay on its release. The reason for the case being filed was revealed to be over pending financial dues by the film’s producer S. N. Rajarajan, who has jointly produced the upcoming action thriller under his K Productions banner in collaboration with Shan Sutharsan’s Vansan Movies. That said, Arka Media Works has now issued a no-objection certificate for the release of Sindhubaadh, after discussions were held with various third-parties with whom they have a long standing association stating it has been cleared to hit screens starting tomorrow (June 27). Sindhubaadh had seen two postponements already after it was initially announced to hit screens on May 16 and then postponed to come out last week on June 21 after the Hyderabad High Court reordered a stay on the film’s release in any mode/format/medium. In their order, the Court had stated that releasing the film will constitute to a contempt of court punishable under the Contempt of Courts Act, as the status-quo order dated 08.05.2019 is binding against third-parties as well, including all digital players, distributors and co-producers of Sindhubaadh.
Director SU Arunkumar has reunited for the third consecutive film with Vijay Sethupathi with Sindhubaadh after Pannaiyarum Padminiyum and Sethupathi, which went on to become a grand success. The film also starring Anjali and Vijay Sethupathi’s son, Surya Sethupathi, has created quite a lot of expectations among fans after the release of the songs composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja and the action-packed teaser and trailer. With the film clearing all hurdles in its path, director Rathna Kumar of Meyaadha Maan fame and the upcoming Amala Paul starrer, Aadai, shared his own review about Sindhubaadh declaring it as "pure Vijay Sethupathyism after a long time".
