Vignesh Shivan's next directorial venture, Kaathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal was officially launched this morning (December 10) in Chennai with a special Pooja. Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, Vignesh Shivan, and producer Lalit Kumar were present at the Pooja event today. The shooting has also begun and this first schedule is expected to happen for the next few days. Sharing the images from the film launch, the makers stated, "With all your blessings we commenced the shoot of #KaathuvaakulaRenduKaadhal ❤❤". The film was initially supposed to begin in August 2020, but due to the global pandemic and other reasons, the plans were changed and the film has gone on floors now.

Kaathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal will have two female leads - lady Superstar Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni and it is going to be exciting to see Vijay Sethupathi romance both the heroines. This fun-filled rom-com will have music composed by Anirudh Ravichander who is well known for delivering chartbuster numbers with Vignesh Shivan. We can expect the Ani - Wikki combo to strike once again with Kaathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal. Lalit Kumar will bankroll this film under his banner of 7 Screen Studios. Kaathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal was supposed to happen with Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara and Trisha, after the success of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, but due to various reasons, the project did not materialize as planned. Details regarding the rest of the cast and the technical team are awaited.

Vijay Sethupathi had recently wrapped up the shooting of Laabam, directed by SP Jhananathan and we had seen pictures from the wrap-up event on social media. The film's trailer which released a few weeks before received a good response from the fans. Apart from these two movies, Vijay Sethupathi's line up of films include Maamanithan, Kadaisi Vivasayi (extended cameo), Tughlaq Durbar, Yaadhum Oorey Yaavarum Kelir, Annabelle Subramaniam (with Taapsee), Navarasa (Bejoy Nambiar's directorial) and all these projects are in different stages of production. There is also 19 (1)(a) in Malayalam and Uppenna in Telugu for Vijay Sethupathi. He is also awaiting the release of Thalapathy Vijay's Master which is scheduled to release next year for the festive occasion of Pongal.

On the other hand, Vignesh Shivan is gearing up for the release of Paava Kadhaigal, an anthology film in which he has directed one of the portions.
