Initially slated for a Tamil New Year release, Vijay Antony’s upcoming action drama, Kaali, created quite a lot of curiosity when its trailer was unveiled last month.


Directed by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s wife Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, Kaali produced under the Vijay Antony Film Corporation banner stars Anjali as the female lead.


In addition, Sunainaa is also cast in the film in a vital supporting role.


Meanwhile, Kaali ran into some trouble when the Chennai High Court ordered a stay on the film’s release after a plea had come their way.


Although details surrounding the on the stay order and the verdict are yet to be known, the film’s producer and Vijay Antony’s wife Fatima Vijay Antony took to Twitter to confirm that the stay order had been lifted.

Furthermore, the film is expected to hit screens once the ongoing Tamil Film Producers Council’s (TFPC) strike is called off.
