National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai: Part 1 continues to witness a phenomenal response in theatres and has been garnering appreciation from all corners. The Tamil period crime drama film released in cinemas worldwide on March 31 featured Soori making a transition from comedy to making his debut as a hero alongside 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who appears in a crucial extended cameo. The first in Vetri Maaran's two-parter, Viduthalai is now all set to be released in Telugu as well, with the team announcing that the film has been titled Vidudhala: Part 1 and will open in theatres on April 15.
Veteran Telugu producer-distributor Allu Aravind, who has bankrolled and presented several blockbusters over the course of his illustrious career, will be releasing Vidudhala: Part 1 and expectations are high for the film to open in a good number of theatres. The response for Viduthalai: Part 1 has been positive on all fronts and Allu Aravind will be looking for similar results for the Telugu version as well. Based on a short story titled Thunaivan by writer Jeyamohan, who also co-wrote the screenplay along with Vetri Maaran, the response for Viduthalai is getting bigger by the day, with the performances of Soori as a police constable and Vijay Sethupathi playing a revolutionary leader garnering immense praise.
