The well-known comedian turned actor Soori has gave an exclusive interview with Galatta Media. As the anchor asked about the physically injuries and turmoil he went through in the shooting process of Viduthalai, the actor Soori said “People would have seen in the trailer, as everyone says no one in cinema is without any problems. Everyone goes through a tough situation. As I have turned from a comedian to a hero I guess I have gone through more struggles. I will tell it confidently as I was not a hero in the previous films. As I had no training, there is a big sequence in the film, and for that sequence. I had to get trained to fight for the sequence. Within four days of shooting my shoulders got injured. There was a muscle tear."
Soori said further about his injuries that "we shot for a different sequence in three days for 15 days. I did not back off despite many physical wounds, I got six stitches in my elbow, five stitches in my foot and a dislocated shoulder. The director (Vetri Maaran) could ask me If we can stop and continue tomorrow but I went to the hospital to get stitched up and then come back to set. I had to jump from 35 feet, after ten times the stitches got ripped and so I went to the doctor again and he was speechlessly shocked. Again the stitches got ripped but, I did not get the doctor as I know there will be no place to do stitches in the arm and so I went back home and just bandaged it myself." The actor then revealed why he did not take rest despite injuries, saying "I thought was there are foreign technicians, imported cameras on shoot and lakhs are spent on the filming of a day. if I say I am not well and call for pack up then crores of producers money will go waste and so I persisted and did not show my pain to the director. Now I am happy with the outcome of Viduthalai as it will be a milestone project in my career."
