Vetri Maaran is one of the busiest directors in Tamil cinema who already has his pipeline full of exciting projects. That being said, one more project has now been added to his kitty and here are the details about it. It has been officially announced that the acclaimed filmmaker will be directing a biopic film based on the life story of famous leader, Velupillai Prabhakaran, the Chief of LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam). Prabhakaran is one of the most loved and celebrated leaders among the Tamil people across the globe and when we hear that his life is going to be made into a film, it surely is an exciting project to watch out for.

Popular film director, actor, and politician Seeman of Naam Tamizhar Katchi will be bankrolling this new film. Seeman made the official announcement on the Prabhakaran biopic through his social media pages and the update has garnered wide attention on social media. The project could take some time to begin as Vetri Maaran is already committed to several other projects and only after finishing those, he might start working on this new one. This biopic will reveal the untold truths behind the life of Velupillai Prabhakaran. More details on the project are awaited. Vetri Maaran is currently working on Viduthalai which stars Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.

The film, which has music composed by Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja, is made into two parts and the first part will release next month. Viduthalai is based on the short story, Thunaivan, written by Jeyamohan. After completing Viduthalai, Vetri Maaran will begin work on his highly anticipated next, Vaadivaasal, starring Suriya in the lead role. Vaadivaasal is based on the novel of the same name penned by CS Chellappa. The film is produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu and has music composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
