Sony's plan to make a third Venom movie is coming real soon and the studio has decided to promote from within the ranks of those who have been involved in the symbiote-starring franchise since the beginning. It has been confirmed that writer Kelly Marcel has been reeled in to direct the third installment of Venom. She has been a longtime creative collaborator of Tom Hardy, who plays the titular role, having worked on the script work of the first installment.
She has also been a producer, as she has Marcel written and produced the first two Venom movies. She worked on the sets run by Ruben Fleischer and Andy Serkis in Venom: Let There Be Carnage and also helped Tom come up with ideas in the process of shooting. Prior to joining Team Venom, Marcel also wrote the likes of Saving Mr. Banks starring Tom Hanks, and the first Fifty Shades Of Grey. But Marcel will be making her big directorial debut with the movie and is expected to have the cameras rolling next year.
The project is still in its early stages of development, with Tom Hardy returning as the lethal protector Venom, one of Marvel’s greatest and most complex characters. Venom 3 will also be written and produced by Marcel and Hardy as well. Meanwhile, Venom's Director Ruben Fleischer will direct the third installment of Now You See Me for Lionsgate.
