Blockbuster South Indian films music director S. Thaman met former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni during the inauguration of the Tamil Nadu Championship Foundation on Monday in Chennai and also posted a selfie with the star cricketer on his social media pages along with a heartfelt statement. Extending his gratitude to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and the Youth Welfare and Sports Development Udhayanidhi Stalin, the hit composer expressed his excitement at meeting his cricket idol for the first time and thanked him for making his "millions & billions" of fans happy.

Posting a picture with the Chennai Super Kings skipper on Twitter, Thaman, an avid cricket player himself, wrote, "MY MAN MY CRICKET GOD 🔥💣OUR @msdhoni It’s A dream Coming Really True Heart is jumping in Joy 🤩 Thanks dearest #MSDhoni U Made One Of Your Millions & Billions of Truest Fans Happy 🔥♥️ Thanks to Our Honourable Respected Cheif Minister Sir @mkstalin and Minister Dear brother @Udhaystalin Anna For making this Happen #IdhuNammaAatam #KallamNamadhe ♥️ #ThalaDhoni (sic)". Although there has been no official announcement about his retirement, Dhoni is currently captaining the CSK in the ongoing sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), with many speculating that it could be the Indian cricketing superstar's last outing this season. Thaman, who predominantly works in Telugu and Tamil films, hit the bullseye earlier this year with his chart-topping songs and power-packed background score in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Varisu, which went on to gross more than 300 crores in worldwide box office collections. The composer has a number of big projects lined up next starting with Nayanthara's tentatively titled Lady Superstar 75 in Tamil, followed by Telugu films such as Ram Charan's Game Changer being directed by Shankar, Pawan Kalyan's OG under Saaho fame Sujeeth's direction, and Mahesh Babu's yet-to-be-titled SSMB28 being directed by Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo filmmaker Trivikram Srinivas.
