A film that has been mired in controversy for a while now is the 'Vaigai Puyal Vadivelu, Parvathy Omanakuttan and Nasser starrer, Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei, under Chimbudeven’s direction and produced jointly by Shankar’s S Productions and Lyca Productions banners.
Vadivelu now in a letter addressing the Nadigar Sangam has stated he will not be working with the Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei team claiming they had wasted the dates he had allotted to the team.
In his statement, the comedy star has said, "As the IA24P team had requested, I had given them my dates until December 2017. However, they decided to extend the shoot and subsequently went on to change my costume designer in the film. Furthermore, I have gone through defamation after a complaint was filed against me at the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC). These incidents have hurt me and the delay has also caused me to miss out on other films, which has resulted in financial losses,".
Vadivelu, in addition stated Nasser being the President of the Nadigar Sangam couldn’t take a decision as he is also part of Imsai Arasan 24am Pulikecei.
It now remains to be seen how the TFPC responds to Vadivelu’s decision to not act in the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster, Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikecei anymore.
According to reports, Vadivelu is planning to move to the Madras High Court in case a ban is enforced against him by the Tamil Film Producers Council.
