Maamannan is the next big film of actor Udhayanidhi Stalin that has 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu in an important role. The film helmed by Mari Selvaraj has created a huge excitement as it has the popular comedian in a new avatar that fans would have not seen before. Keerthy Suresh is playing the female lead in the film and also has popular Malayalam actor Fahad Faasil in an important role. Maamannan was announced to be released in theatres in June. The film also has Music composed by A.R Rahman and it's audio was released in a grand event yesterday. Kamal Haasan was the chief guest for the event which had many leading members of the film industry in attendance.

Before the release of the audio, The cast of Maamannan and other celebrities who were attending the event spoke to the press and media. Speaking to the press, Udhayanidhi Stalin said “What people will expect from a Mari Selvaraj film will be present in the film." He further said that they are tentatively planning to release the film on June 29. With the audio launched it was also speculated that the anticipated trailer of the film will be released in two weeks.
Speaking about Maamannan, The actor and producer Udhayanidhi Stalin said “the wavelength between myself and the director Mari Selvaraj fit perfectly. We spoke many things about the film, The making of scenes and about the dialogues. Me, Fahad Faasil and Keerthy Suresh are there in the film but Vadivelu sir has done a different role that has moved us aside. Mari Selvaraj's politics is spoken about in the film", said the actor. This video of the speech of the actor has become viral on social media. It is said that this could be the last film of Udhayanidhi Stalin as he has taken oath as the Tamil Nadu minister of Sports Development.
