Actor-producer and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin's next big film is the highly-anticipated Maamannan, which has him teaming up with acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Mari Selvaraj. The upcoming film is currently one of the most discussed films on social media for its star cast as it will also feature Keerthy Suresh, Fahadh Faasil, 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, among others, with the team on Thursday evening wrapping the second leg of filming. Taking to social media, Udhayanidhi shared photos from the celebrations informing fans that the Maamannan second schedule has been completed, while also poking fun at Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil and their availability for the third and final schedule. He tweeted, "And it’s the end of #MAAMANNAN 2nd schedule! Last and final schedule will happen only if @KeerthyOfficial Mam and #fahadh give dates 😁 pls consider ! sorry @mari_selvaraj sir for all the torture and one mores ! Shortly thereafter, Udhayanidhi shared another picture from the sets of Maamannan where he along with director Mari Selvaraj, Keerthy Suresh and cinematographer Theni Eswar are seen enjoying their time in the celebrations with the entire crew. He tweeted, "#MAAMANNAN ! And this is for the all time record breaking one mores 🤗 @mari_selvaraj  sir  @KeerthyOfficial  Mam #thenieaswar sir". Maamannan is carrying tremendous buzz as it will also feature music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman and fans expect him to weave his magic once again in the folk and rural genre after quite some time.

Maamannan is Mari Selvaraj's third directorial after he delivered critical and commercial successes with Pariyerum Perumal in 2018 and last year's Karnan. Fans await another ripper of a drama that is laden with socio-political issues and all sights will be on Mari Selvaraj to deliver yet again to come up with a memorable film. Being produced under Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies banner, there have been speculations stating that the film will be his last as an actor as he will be looking to concentrate on his political career next, with an official word still being awaited.
