Actor-politician Udhayanidhi Stalin and Red Giant Movies presented filmmaker Mari Selvaraj with a MINI Cooper car on Sunday, July 2, on the occasion of their film, Maamannan, turning out to be a success. Sharing pictures of the celebrations on social media, Udhayanidhi also shared his views about how everyone discusses the story and the stage for its idea differently while stating that leaders like Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Periyar, Former Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu C. N. Annadurai and 'Kalaignar' M. Karunanidhi have instilled a sense of dignity and social justice in the younger generation. Taking to Twitter, Udhayanidhi wrote, "Everyone discusses it differently. They share ideas relating their thoughts to the story and the field. It has become a hotly debated topic among Tamils around the world. Our leaders like Ambedkar, Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar have inculcated a sense of self-respect and social justice thoughts in the younger generation. Maamannan was announced to be Udhayanidhi Stalin's final outing in cinema as an actor as he is set to dive into active politics full-time next and the smile on his face in the latest pictures with Mari Selvaraj shows that he is indeed happy with the box office results as well as the critical feedback. The film also is a big jump for Mari Selvaraj and is his third hit on the trot after he impressed audiences with his work in Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021). Maamannan also stars 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, and Keerthy Suresh, and they too have been receiving praises for their performances, with Academy Award-winning composer A. R.
